Substitute Secretary
Hamilton Community Schools is seeking reliable, detail-oriented individuals to serve as Substitute Secretaries. This is an on-call, day-to-day position that provides critical support to school operations by managing the front office, greeting visitors, and maintaining student and staff records. Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, and the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities.
STARTING DATE: ASAP
PAY RATE: $17.50 / hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of federal and state criminal background checks
- Demonstrates dependability and promptness
- Contribute to a positive climate and culture by exhibiting high professional standards
- Provide a foundation for integrity, pride of accomplishment, self-discipline, and teamwork
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and positively with staff, students, and the public.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in computer skills and office software.
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve effectively.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Answer phones and greet visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Monitor building security and manage guest access.
- Perform clerical duties such as typing, filing, and processing information requests.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming front office environment.
- Process and maintain student registration, withdrawals, and records.
- Enter student information into the PowerSchool Student Information System
- Assist with the preparation of materials for teachers and staff.
- Receive, process, and distribute inter-office and U.S. mail.
- Handle student bus notes, changes, and visitor sign-in/out.
- Provide basic medical assistance when necessary, including dispensing medication.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator(s).
