American Sign Language Teacher of Record


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Provides academic support and grading for online classes. The teacher of record position requires daily work Monday - Friday. This position requires answering email from students, parents and mentors daily. Grading of student assignments must be graded within 3 days of submittal Monday - Friday. 

REPORTS TO:  Instructional Manager

Pay Type and Range: Salary Structure - $101.50 per enrollment per semester

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Sounding board for student, mentor and parent issues
  • Send instructor email to all students introducing yourself and providing contact information
  • Check school email and kickstand messages and respond daily if needed
  • Remind students about count day procedures. Students must log on and do work in each class
  • Observe and evaluate student performance and development
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments
  • Provide appropriate feedback on student work
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development including grading/responding to online discussions, contacting students via e-mail or instant messaging on a regular bases
  • Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law and school regulations
  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers and community
  • Maintain professional expertise with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and makes relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field teaching
  • Michigan certification in teaching in appropriate subject area and grade level.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
  • Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.
  • Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
  • Meet professional teacher education requirements of school, district and state.
